Alfie Robinson scored his first goal for us in the dying seconds of the game to continue our good start to 2023.
There was one change to the starting line up which narrowly went down to Rangers B, with Iain Davidson starting a suspension young loanee Sam Young went straight into the side – becoming the 33rd player to appear for us this season. The Braves went into the match having scored 95 goals in the leagues and cups but Danny Farrell recorded a fourth shout out in five games.
With 12 minutes gone Farrell was called into action when he saved a shot from Jamie Walker and six minutes later he denied Luke Main.
Just short of the half hour Scott Sinclair saw a shot drift wide and minutes later Lucas Berry won the ball at the halfway line but as he advanced forward he was eventually snuffed out by two Braves defenders. Soon after Dan Watt saw a penalty claim waved aside and as the first half drew to a close a Sinclair shot was cleared in the box by Jack Brown.
Seven minutes into the second half a free kick from Marc Kelly, who is Braves top scorer with 22 goals, was brilliantly turned for a corner by Farrell.
Midway through the half Braves keeper Chris Henry done likewise to deny Sinclair.
With 11 minutes to go at the back post a header from the visitors Jack Duncan flashed across the face of the Cowden goal.
As a goalless draw looked to be the outcome Alfie ROBINSON headed home following a corner from Scott Walker.
