A header from David Cox proved to enough to see off the challenge of Brora and set up a home tie with Rangers in the Fourth Round next month.

It was the visitors who how ever had the first chance of the afternoon when Ross sent in a cross for player/Manager Mackay to fire in a shot which was blocked by McGurn with the rebound from Brindle coming off the post.

At the other end David COX sent a long range shot over the bar and with 15 minutes gone Mullen sent a long ball into the box and Malcolm’s looping header from 12 yards was tipped over the bar from Mallin.

Renton then headed just wide from a Mullen corner while Mackay saw a shot saved from McGurn.

MacLeod of the visitors then hit the side netting while MacLean sent a shot from 17 yards past the post.

McGurn then held a shot from Pickles but it was David COX who broke the deadlock with 38 minutes gone when he headed home from a Talbot cross.

The start of the second half saw an effort from Cox blocked by Mallin while at the other end MacLeod headed wide following a MacDonald corner.

Midway through the half McGurn held a shot from Sutherland while a header from Renton was saved by Mallin.

With 12 minutes to go Renton sent a header wide from a Sheerin cross while Campbell of the visitors hit the crossbar but the assistants flag was raised for offside.

Deas then did well to intercept a long ball from MacLean to stop Mackay in his tracks while with a few minutes to go Buchanan broke through but was blocked on the edge of the box.

The visitors then had a free kick on the edge of the box but Nicholson’s effort was blocked by the wall.
