It turned out to be a frustrating afternoon as Peterhead turned around a deficit at the interval to comeback to take all three points which saw them move clear in second place.

There was one change to the side which had drawn at Hampden against Queen’s Park with Jamie Pyper replacing Pat Scullion who dropped to the bench.

Things had started brightly when after ten minutes Sheerin saw a shot blocked with the ball falling to Jason TALBOT who fired home his first goal for us.

Peterhead however drew level just three minutes later, following a corner a clearance from McGurn fell to Scott Brown who squared the ball to Michael Dunlop who slotted home from close range.

A second goal after 27 minutes saw us go in at half time ahead when Robbie BUCHANAN got on the end of a cross from Cox to head past Fleming at the back post.

The second half proved to be a different story and within two minutes the Blue Toon were back on level terms when a free kick from the left from Willie Gibson was headed against the underside of the bar by Jason Brown and the rebound fell to Derek LYLE to fire home.

The visitors then took the lead for the first time with 57 minutes gone when a back heel effort from Rory McALLISTER was deflected into the Cowden net.

Ten minutes later Peterhead made sure of the points when GIBSON saw McGurn off his line while taking a free kick in the centre circle and fired the ball past the stranded keeper.

McGurn done well to turn a McAllister free kick around the post with 16 minutes to go ,while a Renton header went across the face of the goal following a Mullen free kick.

Then with a few minutes to go, McGurn blocked the advancing Kavanagh.
