The last regular away game of the season saw our tenth league 1-0 defeat of the season as Berwick completed a clean sweep of wins which saw them move into eight place.

There were two changes to the side which had lost at Balmoor with Muirhead and Luke replacing Malcolm and Buchanan.

The only goal of a sunny afternoon came with 12 minutes gone when Lavery send over a corner which was headed home by the unmarked Jamie TODD at the back post.

Eight minutes later Murrell latched onto a long ball and bore down on the Cowden goal but was eventually outmuscled by Pyper.

Midway through the first half a Pyper throw in eventually fell to Muirhead but his header was held by Brennan.

The young striker then saw a shot go high over and a header wide as the first half drew to a close.

The second half opened with Mullen sending a long range effort over the bar while a free kick from Hamilton at the other end was blocked by the defensive wall.

On the hour a piece of slack defending allowed Sheerin through on goal but the keeper saved on the edge of the box.

In 71 minutes a Mullen corner was flicked into the path of Reilly who sent his header over the bar from close range.

Buchanan came on for the closing stages and within a minute was fouled 25 yards out but Mullen’s free kick was blocked by the wall.

Sheerin then saw a header saved while O’Kane saw a shot held by McGurn.
