We had to twice comeback to earn a well deserved point at Forthbank Stadium last Saturday afternoon.
There was one change to the side which had won against both Elgin and Stenhousemuir with Brandon Luke coming in for his first start to replace Brad Smith.
The opening minute saw Stirling’s McNeil swing over a corner into the box but Kavanagh sent his shot past the post, the six minutes later the same player got on the end of a MacDonald cross but headed over at the back post.
Our first real chance of the afternoon came with ten minutes gone when Buchanan got on the end of a Mullen corner but lost his footing and the home defence cleared the danger.
Both McLaughlin and Roberson tried their luck from long range with both efforts going past McGurn’s post.
Buchanan then saw a header go past the post while at the other end Moon lobbed the ball into the box but MacDonald failed to connect.
Just short of the half hour Buchanan was brought down by Hamilton and the eventual free kick by Gilfillan was blocked by the wall.
McGurn then saved from a MacDonald header while Buchanan had the ball in the net ten minutes from the break but was ruled offside.
It was Stirling who broke the deadlock six minutes from the break when Danny JARDINE picked up a loose ball to slot home from close range.
The first half then closed with the injured Gilfillan limping off to be replaced by Rumsby.
Four minutes into the second half Miller sent a long range effort over the bar and soon after Malcolm slotted the ball to Cox who sent his shot just wide from six yards.
We however got back level with 54 minutes gone when Robbie BUCHANAN broke through and slotted a low shot into the corner of the net. Then just before the hour mark he sent a header wide.
Stirling restored their lead in 63 minutes when Rumsby barged MacDonald in the box following a free kick by Neil McLAUGHLIN who slotted home the resultant penalty despite McGurn getting a hand to the ball.
Sheerin then headed over from a Mullen corner but we got back level for a second time with 20 minutes to go when Blair MALCOLM coolly ran in on goal to slot home his second goal in four days.
The closing stages saw us come close to grabbing all three points Wight holding a Miller header from a corner and then diving to save from Buchanan following a cross from Cox.
