The meeting of League Two’s lowest goal scorers unsurprisingly ended in a goal less draw at a cold and windy Ainslie Park last Saturday afternoon.
It was an unchanged Cowden line up from the previous week while City handed a debut to former Central Parker Liam Henderson who recently joined them on loan from Falkirk.
The game opened with Morrison sending in a cross which was cleared for a corner by McInally with Walker’s which eventually followed being saved by McGurn.
In eight minutes we had our first clear attempt with Muirhead sending his angled effort across the face of goal following good work by Swann.
City’s El Alagui then sent the ball wide from close range after connecting with a cross from Shepherd.
Scullion then saw a shot saved by Antell while McGurn denied McKee at the other end.
Six minutes from the break Whitaker sent a good cross into the box and Scullion’s back heel effort was saved by Antell.
Three minutes from the break a shot by Walker was turned for a corner by McGurn as the first half drew to a close.
Four minutes into the second half Swann sent a free kick into the box but Muirhead saw his shot blocked.
In 69 minutes Mullen, who had only been on the park for a matter of minutes, almost broke the deadlock with a 25 yard free kick which was tipped over the bar by Antell.
Then two minutes later Muirhead was once again denied by the keeper. Both sides then went close to grabbing a point in the closing minutes with Beattie sending the ball high over from close range while Brad Smith sent a free kick high over while at the other end Thomson did like wise.
