It is often said that opponents on a poor run of form are at their most dangerous when they depart with a manager and this was the case as the Binos won their first away game since December.
The visitors started the match in a brisk fashion and with just four minutes gone former Central Parker McKenzie sent in a shot which was diverted by McGurn’s one handed save and the ball was eventually cleared with Layne lurking.
Two minutes later however the Binos opened the scoring when Ferns fed the ball to Issac LAYNE who ran through on goal before sending the ball wide of the keeper into the bottom corner of the net.
The remainder of the opening period saw clear cut chances few and far between of either side with Brett sending a 20 yard shot over the bar while McKenzie did likewise a few minutes later.
Then with ten minutes to go before the interval McKenzie showed a bit of opportunism when he fired in a dipping shot from 35 yards which was gathered by McGurn.
Two minutes into the second half saw our first real chance of an equaliser when a 25 yard Mullen free kick was tipped over the bar by Chris Smith, and minutes later the keeper saved Renton’s 20 yard shot.
However with 63 minutes gone Stirling went further ahead when McKenzie set up Darren SMITH who shot home from close range.
Six minutes later Ross sent an inviting low cross into the visitors box but Renton just failed to connect while at the other end Ferns got on the end of a McKenzie cross with McGurn saving his shot.
Moore then weaved his way through the Binos defence, beating a couple of defenders, but his shot was blocked by the keeper.
In the closing minute however Kavanagh almost added a third goal for Stirling when he found himself through on goal but his shot was blocked by the advancing McGurn.
