After an even opening 45 minutes Rovers scored four times in the second half to run out convincing winners.
The visitors broke the deadlock with 14 minutes gone when Jonny COURT shot home from 12 yards and minutes later we were dealt a blow when Johnston hobbled off injured.
Raith doubled their advantage on the hour when bad defending allowed Joel THOMAS to slot the ball past Hunter.
Three minutes later COURT grabbed his second goal of the night with a close range effort and a few minutes later Byrne saw a shot come off the post as we looked to reduce the deficit.
Things got worse with 20 minutes to go when Swann had to go off injured with all three subs used and the ten men went further behind in 72 minutes when THOMAS shot home his second goal of the night.
With ten minutes to go COURT completed his hat trick with a shot from 12 yards and with five minutes remaining we pulled a goal back when Callum ROBERTSON headed home from a Ross corner.
