A young side with only John Armstrong from the first team squad proved to be no match for a more experienced Rovers side at Central Park on Tuesday night.
Rovers opened the scoring with just 11 minutes gone when Craig WIGHTON broke into the home box from the left and slotted a low angled shot past Hunter.
Soon after Wright sent a long range effort just over the bar but Raith increased their lead in 27 minutes when Mitch MEGGINSON scored from close range.
Minutes later Ellis fouled Wright on the edge of the visitor’s box and Muirhead’s subsequent free kick was blocked by Law, while Mitchell sent a shot just wide of the post.
In 37 minutes Rovers went three ahead when Callum ROBERTSON was set up by Scott Robertson and slotted home from six yards.
The second half was only four minutes old when WIGHTON got his second goal of the night when he fired home a 20 yard shot on the turn into the top corner of the net.
Armstrong then saw a shot cleared off the line while Muirhead headed wide from a Wilson cross.
However it was Raith who completed the scoring for the night with nine minutes to go when their TRIALIST centre back headed home following a Petrie corner.
