The development side got their first win of the league campaign on Tuesday night against Stenhousemuir at Central Park.

We were the more likely looking side in the opening stages and with a few minutes gone Wright broke through on goal but sent his final shot just over the bar after attempting to lob keeper Robertson.

 

Then from a Callaghan corner Kane headed just over the bar. Muirhead then played a good pass across the face of the Warriors goal but Mitchell just failed to connect.

Mitchell then came close to breaking the deadlock in 12 minutes after latching onto a long ball but his shot was blocked by the keeper.

 

At the other end Summers of the visitors fired in a shot which bounced of the junction of the Cowden goal.

Both Chitemere and Redpath fired in wayward shots as the visitors came more into the match and they eventually took the lead on 28 minutes when Paul NASH picked up an Eddington pass to fire home from 14 yards.

 

Eight minutes from the break we got back on level terms when another Callaghan corner was headed home by Chris KANE.

With 55 minutes gone we took the lead when Wright sent in a cross for Ryan McDONALD to head home his second goal of the season.

 

The Warriors came close to levelling the score with 14 minutes to go when a 20 yard drive from sub Craigie went just past the post.

However with nine minutes to go we went further ahead when Muirhead set up Kyle MITCHELL who shot home an angled shot from eight yards.

 

Hamilton of the visitors sent a shot from six yards wide of target while in the closing minute Muirhead saw a shot blocked by Robertson.
