A fifth successive home defeat followed the midweek loss at Ayr in a match which was over shadowed by Airdrie boss Eddie Woleki Black suffering a stroke during the half time break.
We made a bright start and in the first minute Yakub went down the left and sent over a fine cross and Brett’s shot was blocked by Crighton.
But in five minutes the visitors took the lead when no home midfielder picked up Jordan THOMPSON and from all of 35 yards he hit an unstoppable shot high into the net.
Fitzpatrick fired a 20 yarder inches wide on the half hour and then in the 33rd minutes McDaid sent his 18 yard shot just over.
Then a long ball into the Airdrie box found McDaid and and he held off a challenge and his pass to Donaldson saw the full-back send over a fine cross but no one could turn it into a goal.
The second period saw Airdrie start well but the best chance fell to us when Spence’s cross was perfect for sub Caldwell who shot wide from only six yards out.
But within seconds at the other end Cadden’s low 18 yard shot was brilliantly blocked by Roman.
However, with 23 minutes left we missed another golden chance when sub Byrne fired wide from only 10 yards out.
The game came alight in 69 minutes when unmarked Jim LISTER nodded in Thompson’s cross but within 60 seconds we were level when Lewis MILNE shot past Parry.
However, the game was over 13 minutes from time. Roman made a complete hash of a clearance which went only 15 yards to LISTER and he calmly slotted the ball past the stranded keeper.
