Man of the Match:

We finally managed to halt our losing run with a keenly contested draw at Ochilview and with Stirling Albion’s game at Dumbarton postponed remained in second place.

Joe Mbu, who had missed our three defeats through injury, returned to the side along with Dene Droudge and Mark Ramsay.

The hosts, looking to move clear of the relegation play off zone, had a good chance to open the scoring in the first minute but Motion sent his shot from the edge of the box wide of the target.

Cowden replied with Wardlaw hitting a shot on the turn from the edge of the box which flew just over the bar.

A busy opening period continued with Doudge sending an inviting cross into the home box but Robertson was unable to connect to the ball, while at the other end Mbu stopped Love in his tracks on the edge of the 18 yard box.

Motion had another pop at the Cowden goal from the edge of the box following a cross from Love but was once again off target.

Another run from Love midway through the first half saw the ball laid off to Stephen Thomson who sent his shot high and wide of the Cowden goal.

Just short of the half hour Adamson tried his luck with a long range shot which was held by the keeper and soon after former Central Parker Scullion shot just over from 12 yards.

As the opening period drew to a close Scullion picked up a yellow card for a foul and within three minutes of the second period commencing he was once again in referee Watters book for a foul on Adamson which saw him red carded.

With 54 minutes gone we had our best chance of the afternoon when Fairbairn sent in a cross from the right which was met by McQuade but home keeper McLuskey managed to turn his close range shot around the post for a corner.

A minute later McQuade turned provider for Droudge who saw his shot across the face of the home goal deflected for another corner kick.

On the hour mark Gibb had a shot from the edge of the box which was deflected away from the Cowden goal.

As the game drew to a close with a draw looking more and more likely both sides had their chances to snatch all three points.

Fairbairn sent in a 22 yard free kick which was saved by the keeper while four minutes into injury time sub Quinn broke through onto the Cowden goal but was tripped on the edge of the box by Adamson who received his third red card of the season. Thankfully the resultant free kick from Motion went high over the bar.
