Clyde opened the game well and in 15 minutes McManus brought out a fine save from Flynn with a goal bound drive that was heading for the top corner. As Cowden fought back Robertson found an opening but his shot was too high and for a spell we had to settle for taking the sting out of the Clyde challenge.

Stewart had to be replaced by Johnston in 34 minutes and in the closing five minutes of the half the home side upped their game and McMaunus struck the bar with a left foot shot, then a Watt shot was brilliantly saved by Flynn before David GRAY fired them ahead 90 seconds into time added on with a fierce right shot from all of 25 yards. It was a poor way for the us to end the first period but the second-half saw us look a lot more determined, with Campbell on for Adamson. Milne shot just past just 60 seconds into the half then Miller saw his drive saved by Barclay.

But the equaliser was only delayed. In 50 minutes a good move saw Lewis MILNE blast the ball into the net from almost 25 yards out. This pepped up the visiting challenge and Brett almost put us ahead and then Higgins’ header went inches wide. Clyde were being well contained by Cowden but they had a chance in 77 minutes when Flynn brilliantly saved McColm’s right foot shot. But Cowden could have got the winner when Higgins got space and saw his shot well saved by Barclay.

As the game hit the closing stages the we looked the better side and in the last minute Kyle MILLER headed home from close in after a Higgins latched on to Johnston’s cross after a fine run by the youngster and his nod back across the face of the Clyde goal was headed past Barclay by the linkman..
