The reserves slipped to the bottom of their league following Tuesday nights derby defeat at Central Park.
The Kirkcaldy side opened the scoring after just six minutes when Lewis Vaughan chipped the ball over Flynn from 40 yards.
Despite the early set back we looked the more lively side and minutes later Morton broke through but saw his shot blocked by keeper Roberts.
Midway through the first half we were denied a penalty when Callaghan appeared to have been fouled by Fogan in the box but play was waived on.
Miller then flicked the ball into the path of Russell but Roberts managed to get his fingertips to the strikers shot at the expense of a corner.
It was the Rovers who were to score again six minutes after the break when Vaughan made the most of a defensive error to slip the ball past Flynn.
With 63 minutes gone the visitors went further ahead when Callum Robertson advanced into the box to fire home a low shot.
Ten minutes later an angled effort from Callaghan came off the crossbar as we looked to get back into the game.
We were finally rewarded for our efforts with ten minutes to go when Bouhaddou sent over a cross to Craig Brand who fired home a powerful first time shot from 16 yards.
Any thoughts of a comeback however were dashed with four minutes to go when Mark Aitken fired home a 12 yard shot on the turn to complete the scoring for the night.
However in the last minute Sawers fired in a 20 yard effort which came off the underside of the cross bar and appeared to cross the line but the ‘goal’ was ruled out as play continued.
