A hat trick from Kelty based hitman Craig Johnston set us on our way as we blew East Fife away at a blustery Dunfermline High School on Sunday afternoon.
It took us, playing into the strong wind, five minutes to open the scoring when Shiavone sent over a cross from the left to the back post where Hall slotted the ball to Craig JOHNSTON to slot home his first goal of the afternoon.
The Methil side with the wind at their back tried to get back into the game and four minutes later Inskander sent in a low shot from the edge of the box which whisked past the post while midway through the first half Connor Young fired a 30 yard shot which keeper Barnett tipped onto the bar.
At the other end Lynas put Johnston through on goal but his shot was blocked by keeper Rooney with Hall crashing the rebound against the post.
Five minutes from the interval Barnett in the Cowden goal tipped a long range free kick from Shaw over the bar while a minute later Hutton of the visitors somehow managed to send a shot over the bar from a few yards out when it looked easier to score.
The first chance of the second half saw a Callaghan shot from the edge of the visitors’ box tipped over the bar by Rooney.
However two goals in a two minute period killed the game as a contest, with 50 minutes gone JOHNSTON ran in and slotted home an angled shot low into the far corner of the net and two minutes later he completed his hat trick when he headed home a Hall cross from close range.
Minutes later Hall almost got on the score sheet himself after being set up by Schiavone but sent his shot over the bar.
Two goals in the closing ten minutes then sealed a fine win for the Central Park youngsters take their unbeaten run to five games.
Michael FLEMING got the fourth goal with a 30 yard free kick which flew into the top corner of the net and a minute later NICHOLSON shot home from the edge of the box.
As the game drew to a close McDonald almost added a sixth goal but his header from a Feming free kick came off the bar.
