A second half goal blitz saw us move in to the Third Round of the Scottish Youth Cup
It took only eight minutes for us to break the deadlock when Liam Callaghan ran through to slot the ball into the corner of the net.
However the visitors quickly grabbed an equaliser when Josh Kelly fired a 20 yard free kick past Barnett.
A dramatic opening period continued after 15 minutes when Shire’s Corin Anderson was sent off after bringing down Johnston at the edge of the box.
We restored our lead after 26 minutes when Jack Nicholson headed home at the back post from a Callaghan corner.
However six minutes later slack defending allowed Andrew Kirkcaldy the opportunity to slot home a second equaliser from close range.
The Shire then almost took the lead when a shot from McCrandles came off the post.
Two goals in the opening six minutes of the second half turned the game. In 48 minutes we restored our lead when Callam McNeill knocked home a Callaghan corner and three minutes later Ben Anthony slotted home a Callaghan cross.
Dan Hall added a fifth goal in 72 minutes when he shot into the corner of the net from ten yards and three minutes later an Anthony shot came off the post.
With nine minutes remaining Shire pulled a goal back with a long range effort from Kevin Hamilton however five minutes later Hall fired home his second goal of the afternoon.
