Our unbeaten run continued with a third successive draw at a rainy Excelsior Stadium.
There were one change to the side which had drawn at Starks Park with Kenny Adamson returning to the line -up with Lewis Coult dropping out.
It was the home side who were first to threaten in the opening minute when Gregor Buchanan headed over from a McLaren corner.
However two minutes later we opened the scoring when after go good built up McKenzie sent a low cross to Dean Brett who shot home from eight yards.
With 14 minutes gone Brett put Milne through on goal but the youngsters shot was blocked by a defender and two minutes later a good move involving Adamson, McKenzie and Milne saw Warren make a timely interception to clear the danger.
At the other end a shot from Liam Watt was deflected by Adamson at the expense of a corner.
On the half hour Brett put McKenzie through on goal but after drifting past Lammie his shot was gathered by keeper Adam, and six minutes later Miller sent over a cross but with McKenzie waiting to pounce the keeper gathered the ball.
Soon after, the home side were forced to make a change when Gregor Buchanan hobbled off to be replaced by Lilley.
As the first half closed O’Brien was booked for fouling Boyle.
The Diamonds opened the second half looking to get back on level terms and Blockley sent a header wide.
In 53 minutes Liam Watt found himself through on goal but Flynn did well to block his shot.
Two minutes later McKenzie did well to beat two home defenders but his angled shot was saved by the diving Adam.
With 58 minutes gone Stevenson sent over a corner which was headed wide at the back post by O’Brien.
The Diamonds then made their second change of the afternoon when Donnelly came onto replace former Central Parker Liam Buchanan.
McLaren then sent an inviting cross across the face of the Cowden goal but fortunately for us Liam Watt failed to connect. Home defender Watt was then booked for a foul on Brett.
Airdrie made their third and final change midway through the half with Josh Watt replacing Davidson.
The home side then grabbed an equaliser in 68 minutes through fortunate circumstances.
A clearance from Flynn blocked by Boyle and Ryan Donnelly had the simple task of rolling the ball into an empty net from 18 yards.
With 17 minutes to go Linton made a welcome return to the side following injury when he replaced Miller.
A late rally saw us go in search of what proved to be an elusive winner and with nine minutes to go Stevenson broke through the home defence and cut the ball back to Milne whose shot was held by Adam.
With four minutes to go Lilley became the second home player to be booked for a foul on Brett.
The resulting free kick by Stevenson was blocked by the defensive wall and the danger was cleared.
As the game would down Brett appeared to be clipped in the box by Lilley but claims for a penalty were waived aside by referee Salmond.
