We recorded our fourth successive league and cup win at the Excelsior Stadium to move into joint second place in the league with just goal difference separating us from neighbours Dunfermline.
It was an unchanged line up which took to the field at the Excelsior Stadium and it took only five minutes for the deadlock to be broken when Kyle Miller headed home from a Linton free kick for his third goal in four games.
With 27 minutes gone we had a good opportunity to double our advantage when Stallard held Stewart in the box but McKenzie’s spot kick was blocked by keeper Stewart who then saved the rebound.
As the first half drew to a close Stewart picked up an ankle injury after a clash in the middle of the park and was replaced at the interval by O’Brien.
With 20 minutes remaining the Diamonds were reduced to ten men when Warren was red carded for aiming a headbutt at McKenzie after an altercation at the halfway line and we took full advantage in the closing stages adding two further goals.
In 76 minutes Lewis Coult saw his initial shot blocked by keeper Arthur but fortunately the ball bounced off him and spun past the keeper.
Seven minutes later Milne saw his shot turned away by Arthur but Marc McKenzie was on hand to fire the ball home from close range to seal the win.
