Four goals from John Ferguson helped a youthful Cowden XI reach the Fife Cup Final where they will meet Raith Rovers.
The hosts had the best of the early chances and after just five minutes a Sloan cross was met by Dunn who saw his header cleared off the line and ten minutes later Sloan found himself through on goal but his shot was well saved by Flynn.
With 24 minutes gone Ferguson broke the deadlock in spectacular style when he unleashed an angled shot 25 yards out which flew into the top corner of the net.
Seven minutes later we went two up when O’Brien was brought down in the box by keeper Collier who was sent the wrong way with Ferguson’s resultant spot kick.
Three minutes later Ferguson completed his hat trick when he followed up to slot the ball home after a Stewart shot had rebounded off the post.
A minute from the interval Ferguson turned provider for our fourth goal when he broke through the Fife defence to square the ball to Greg Stewart who shot home.
Ferguson then completed a memorable night 12 minutes into the second half when he headed home after Collier had blocked Milne’s initial shot.
A minute later the scoring was completed when comeback man Thomas O’Brien ran through to slot the ball home.
