With the championship won the previous Saturday it was a much changed side which took the field at Glebe Park.
Manager Colin Cameron watched the game from the stand after going through a knee operation a few days previously.
Cameron was one of four players from the previous week who dropped out of the side with Thomas O’Brien taking his place.
Youth players Lee Wilson and Lewis Milne made their first starts for the side replacing Thomas Flynn and Jon Robertson, while Lewis Coult replaced the injured Greg Stewart.
Coult almost opened the scoring with barely 20 second on the clock but his header from a McKenzie cross went just wide of the target.
It was the home side who broke the deadlock after 22 minutes when Rory McAllister fired home from the penalty spot after he had been fouled by Linton.
The on loan Killie youngster then put City further ahead three minutes later when he collected a pass from Molloy on the right hand side of the box and slotted the ball past Wilson.
We however hit back and on the half hour Marc McKenzie slotted home his 18th goal of the campaign.
Our equaliser came eight minutes into the second half when Milne sent over a corner for John Armstrong to head home his first goal of the season.
