Man of the Match:

We had to survive a second-half onslaught in the Barrs Irn Bru First Division Play-off semi-final first leg at Glebe Park.

Two up at the interval, we seemed in charge but the home side hit back to score twice within six minutes at the start of the second period and it was the Blue Brazil who were under pressure for most of the half.

We made a great start to the game with a goal in only three minutes. A loose clearance was collected by Scott Linton and he fired a well placed shot past Craig Nelson.

City were really struggling and Stewart and Crawford threatened before the second goal came in 26 minutes.

Jon Robertson started the move with a pass to Linton whose cross was perfect for Lewis Coult to head home.

Stewart saw Nelson pull off a good save from a low drive and Armstrong's header from a Linton corner went close to a third as Roy looked on.

But the second-half was a different story. City, with subs Kirkpatrick and McKenna on, hit back inside 60 seconds when Jordan Kirkpatrick's fierce 25 yarder curled past the helpless Roy.

Then five minutes later the youngster sent a good pass to Mitchel Megginson and his 18 yarder flew wide of Roy.

It was all City and Cowden had to dig deep to stay in the tie and Roy pulled off a brilliant block from a McKenna shot and then Baxter bravely threw himself at another McKenna effort to keep it out.

Roy had to hobble off and Hay entered the frenetic fray, for his 200th league appearance for us, and had to block a McAllister shot before Moyes got in a header which beat Hay but Linton appeared on the line to clear.
