The Blue Brazil put on a sizzling 2nd half show to knock 2nd Division Peterhead out of the MG ALBA Cup in the 1st round tie at Balmoor.

The hosts put Cowden under pressure from the off and took the lead after only 12 minutes when Martin Bavidge fired home a Graeme Sharp cross. Peterhead kept Cowden on the back foot in the opening 45 and only some resolute defending and excellent goalkeeping from David Hay kept the score down at the interval.

Danny Lennon made some tactical adjustments at the break and the 2nd half was a different story as the Blue Brazil played some fantastic football to turn the game around. The first goal came seven minutes after the break. Scott McBride (Goal, 52 mins) met a Paul McQuade cross to head past the keeper. McQuade (Goal, 60 mins) scored the winner himself on 60 minutes after creating space on the edge of the box.
