Biography:

Joe Mbu (Centre-half, 2008-13) - Joe Mbu was a late-comer to the senior ranks joining Cowdenbeath in 2008 at the age of 26. He was with Whitburn at the time and poised to join Arthurlie before Danny Lennon sold him on the virtues of Cowdenbeath. Joe, who was born in Cameroon, had been capped by Scotland at junior level. Man-mountain Mbu quickly became a Cowdenbeath legend. A powerhouse centre half with fearsome tackling abilities, Joe was also a bit of a gentle giant and had an excellent disciplinary record. He became the club captain – greatly respected by both team-mates and fans at Central Park. He enjoyed three promotion successes in his time with Cowdenbeath. Leaving the club in 2013, Joe played for Stenhousemuir and East Fife before joining Lowland League Edinburgh City. Under his leadership, City won the Lowland League and attained SPFL status. Joe continued to anchor the City side for two seasons in the SPFL before giving up the game.
