Cowden lost the final game of the 2011/12 Reserve League Cup campaign on Monday night as goals from Ian McShane (pen) and Gavin Reilly secured the points for the Dumfries side.

Thomas O'Brien made his comeback from an ankle injury with a 30 minute cameo appearance from the bench while Scott Linton got a welcome 90 minutes after missing the last two first team games due to suspension.

The side also included eight teenagers who featured in the under 19s 3-2 win over Airdrie United the previous day.
