Partick Thistle 'A' 4 Cowden 'A' 0

The Cowden second string went down to a heavy defeat in a Reserve League Cup fixture at Glasgow Green on Tuesday evening.

Thistle took the lead after 16 minutes when a Tommy Stewart through ball found Christie Elliot and the striker found the net with an angled drive.

Elliot (27) headed home his and Thistle's second from a Chris Erskine corner before Shaun Fraser scored the third from another corner six minutes later.

Tommy Stewart completed the scoring on the hour mark.

New signing, and former Jag, Derek Lyle got 85 minutes under his belt and he steps up his match fitness.
