The Blue Brazil made it a festive double as the new year derby day demolition spelled out the team's intentions for 2012. And it was a good afternoon all round for Cowden with nearest challengers Arbroath and Stenhousemuir both suffering defeats.

The game marked a very satisfacory conclusion to the half-way point in the 2011/12 campaign with the win increasing our lead at the top of the table to six points and also extending the unbeaten 20///12 home league record to nine matches in the process.

Jordan Morton (10) signed off from his loan spell in some style with a contender for goal of the season as his 30-yard half volley flew past Mark Ridgers for the opener..

Player/manager Colin Cameron (pictured) scored his first goal of the season to double the lead on the hour mark as another 30-yarder found the back of the net - this time with the aid of a deflection.

Mark Ramsay added a third on the volley with 15 minutes remaining and man of the match Marc McKenzie completed the scoring with the last kick of the ball.

It was a familiar story for East Fife as the last time the Fifers tasted a derby win at Central Park was back in 1994.

Jordan Morton and Kal Naismith completed their  loan deals this afternoon with the pair returning to Hearts and Rangers respectively. Many thanks to both for their considerable contributions.

Next up for the Blue Brazil is Saturday's Scottish Cup tie against Hibernian at Central Park. Make sure you have your ticket!
