The Blue Brazil will go into 2012 as the division's top dogs after a devastating Boxing Day display put promotion rivals Stenhousemuir to the sword.
The win - combined with Arbroath's game being abandoned - moves Cowden three points clear at the top and seven ahead of today's opponents.
Colin Cameron's side controlled the game from almost start to finish and the final score line could have been more punishing for the home team.
Greg Stewart got the vital breakthrough goal eight minutes before half time after top class set up play from Jon Robertson. Lewis Coult - only on the pitch three minutes earlier - fired home the clincher with two minutes remaining after the keeper blocked Marc McKenzie's effort.
The Blue Brazil kick off the new year in style with a derby against East Fife on 2nd January. Come along to Central Park and toast the new year and Cowden's fine young team!
