Mickey makes it a double

Posted December 14, 2011

Colin Cameron added his second manager of the month award of the season to his mantlepiece after picking up November's Irn-Bru Phenomenal 2nd Division award.

The Blue Brazil retained top spot throughout November thanks to vital wins over East Fife and Stenhousemur and a home draw against Dumbarton. November also had the added bonus of a 3-0 Scottish cup win over Bo'ness United to set up a 4th round glamour tie against SPL Hibernain.

Cameron, who is in his first season in the hot seat after succeeding Jimmy Nicholl in the summer, also won the Irn-Bru award for September but his focus is very much on the team's achievement at the end of season rather than any personal awards.

"I was really shocked to win this one as I have been so focussed on each game that I had not really thought about the cumulative form over the month," said Cameron.

"The club secretary phoned me last week to ask if I was available to go through to Hampden on Thursday. My initial thought was what I have I done!

"I'm really pleased to win another award but the credit and thanks goes to the players and the coaching staff. The standard of performance and attitude this season has been first class and you don't win awards if you are not winning games.

"We have set a high standard this season based on playing good football, creating and taking chances, with a solid foundation at the back. We have not been at our best over the last three games but have shown that we also have battling qualities and will not accept defeat easily.

"Our clear aim this season is to remain top of the league and clinch promotion back to the first division. It is not going to be easy with very good teams such as Arbroath and Stenhousemuir on our tail and there will be many more twists and turns. But we will remain focussed and take it one game at a time - starting with another difficult game against Stirling Albion on Saturday."
