The top two sides failed to create any daylight between each other as a 0-0 draw at a wintry Central Park left both sides tied on 32 points at the summit of the Irn-Bru 2nd Division.

The game only got the go ahead after the 30+ band of Cowden fans managed to get one over nature and clear the overnight snow in time to beat the morning pitch inspection. However, the big match did not live up to expectations as both sides cancelled each other out but the point keeps Cowden top on goal difference.

The top of the table encounter came to life in the closing stages and Lewis Coult had the best chance to break the deadlock but missed a gaping goal from 12 yards with 5 minutes left on the clock before Thomas Flynn made a terrific point blank save form a Kieran McAnespei header soon after.

Joe Mbu, who was outstanding throughout, was presented with the sponsors' man of the match champagne.

The stalemate was Cowden's third consecutive draw and travel to Stirling Albion next weekend looking to return to winning ways.
