Ross Cunningham's documentary about Central Park - "When the Sun Shines" - has received coverage in the national press this week due to the revelation that former Prime Minister Gordon Brown is a secret Cowden fan! It has been well known for many years at Central Park that Brown, who is a regular follower of his hometown team Raith Rovers, is a closet Blue Brasilian but the short film has revealed the secret to the nation.
Gordon, who is the current MP for Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath, has been a true friend of Cowdenbeath Football Club over the years and his numerous appearances at Central Park have included opening the Alex Menzies stand and presenting the 2005/06 championship trophy to Innes Ritchie and the team on that fine April afternoon in 2006. Both is father and grandfather were Central Park regulars.

"When the Sun Shines" pays homage to the old stadium and the memories that this special place evokes. It was produced and directed by Ross Cunningham - one of Scotland's brightest up and coming film makers - who has developed Blue Brazil TV. Ross is due to graduate on Friday from the University of Stirling with a Masters in Film Studies before taking his place in the Alex Menzies stand on Saturday to film Cowdenbeath v Dumbarton for Blue Brazil and SFL TV.
The documentary was first shown on Blue Brazil TV in September and has been viewed over 2000 times. A special edition DVD of the film (including extra footage of interviews with Donald Findlay QC, Ron Ferguson, Dougie Hill and the St. Mirren mini documentary) is available for sale from the Club Shop for £5.
