The draw will evoke memories of season 1992/93. Despite a miserable league campaign in the 1st Division, Cowden put together a memorable Scottish Cup run which almost included two Premier League scalps. We defeated Partick Thistle at Firhill, thanks to a Nicky Henderson goal, in the 3rd round before drawing Hibernian at home in the following round. Andy Harrow's side held Hibs at home 0-0 and could have won the game if the referee had correctly given a late penalty for a foul on Billy Herd. A Pat McGinlay goal gave the top tier team a narrow 1-0 win in the replay at Easter Road.
