Two goals in the closing minutes gave Ayr all three points in Tuesday night’s Reserve League Cup game at Central Park.
The Honest Men opened the scoring after 11 minutes when Roddy Paterson slotted home an angled shot from six yards.
Lee Makel, who had come on as a second half substitute, grabbed an equaliser on 72 minutes when he fired home a low shot from the edge of the box.
We then took the lead with eight minutes to go when Lewis Coult headed home from a Milne corner.
As the game drew to a close Ayr grabbed an equaliser with two minutes remaining when Mark Shankland fired home with a free kick from 22 yards and a minute later substitute Adam Fraser slotted home the winner.
