David Cowan signs for the Blue Brazil

Posted September 9, 2011

Colin Cameron has signed former Motherwell and Livingston right back, David Cowan, and the new addition goes straight into the squad for Saturday's derby against East Fife.

The 29-year old, who played as a trialist in the recent 6-0 win over East Fife in the Fife Cup tie, has signed a contract until January 2012.

The English defender started out with Newcastle United before moving onto Motherwell, St. Johnstone, Ross County and Gretna.

He started last season with Dundee but was a victim of the Dens Park side falling into administration and finished the season by helping Livingston to the 2nd Division championship.

Cowan played a number of games as a trialist for East Fife earlier this season but is now in line to face John Robertson's team tomorrow afternoon.

The defender could make his debut on Saturday along with fellow new boy Kal Naismith. 19-year old Naismith has joined on loan until January 2012 from Rangers. The attacking midfielder or forward has represented Scotland at youth level.
