The winners of the Cowdenbeath FC Art Competition will receive their prizes from Patricia Marwick MSP at Central Park on Saturday. The presentation will take place at half-time during this weekend's Fife derby between the Blue Brazil and East Fife.
The competition, which really caught the imagination of local youngsters, was launched in November 2010 and almost 200 entries were received from students from Beath High School and Lochgelly High School as well as primary school pupils in the Cowdenbeath and Lochgelly catchment area.
The initial entries were considered by members of the Supporters Club with 23 selected for the final shortlist. Following a review by a distinguished panel - including Craig Levein, Scotland Manager; Patricia Marwick MSP; Dennis Canavan, former MP and MSP; and distinguished author, Ron Ferguson - the four main prizes of £100 have been awarded as follows:
Additionally, four runners-up have been awarded £50 each:
The prize monies were donated by Cowdenbeath Football Club, the Supporters' Club and Sandy Ferguson (Club Director).
