The Irn-Bru 2011/12 2nd Division league campaign kicks off this weekend with Colin Cameron looking for his side to get off to a flyer at Station Park.

The new Cowden boss couldn't have asked for a much more difficult opening fixture with an away trip to face Dick Campbell's side  who are one of the early promotion favourites.

Cameron said: "We know that we will have to put in a strong performance to get a result but we are looking to get the campaign off to a positve start."

"They had a good result against Peterhead last weekend and they have promotion aspirations of their own."

Fit-again John Armstrong and Marc McKenzie will be pushing for starting places after getting more game time against Burntisland Shipyard on Tuesday night while Scott Linton also put his case for a return to the starting eleven after an impressive showing.

Danny Mackay is unavailable due to injury while Thomas O'Brien, who made a welcome return to action as a second half substitute against Burntisland Shipyard, and Dene Droudge are still short of match fitness after recovering from foot and knee injuries respectively.

Former Cowden midfielder Martyn Fotheringham will miss the game for the home side due to suspension.

Admission prices are as follows:

  • Adult - £12
  • Concession - £6
