Cowdenbeath 2 Hearts 1

Posted July 12, 2011

The Blue Brazil continued their impressive pre-season form as Colin Cameron secured a 2-1 win over his former team.

Cameron only made 2 changes with new keeper Yossi Bejaoui coming in form the start and young Lewis Milne (pictured) replacing Mark Ramsay while Hearts fielded a strong side.

Gordon Smith had the ball in the net for the visitors after 22 minutes but was denied by the offside flag and a minute later the home trialist, who impressed against Spartans, opened the scoring with a fantastic 20-yard strike which flew past Jamie Macdonald.

Cowden were unfortunate not to go in 2 up at the break after a Greg Stewart free kick came back off the post and the same player missed a penalty, won by the outstanding Jon Robertson, on 35 minutes.

Cameron made a number of changes in the 2nd half as Hearts began to take control of the game and it was no surprise when Stephen Elliot equalised from the spot with 19 minutes remaining.

However, Cowden were not finished and 17-year old midfielder Lewis Milne rose to head home the winner from a Marc McKenzie corner.

Central Park will host SPL opposition again on Saturday with Dundee United due to visit.
