Linton commits to the Blue Brazil

Posted July 5, 2011

Colin Cameron secured the signature of another key player this evening after Scott Linton agreed terms for the new season.

Linton had been considering his options after a promising debut season in the 1st Division but has now committed his future to the Blue Brazil.

"Scott gives us good quality on the left side of the team and is another important part of the jigsaw", commented Cameron.

"He came of age last season and now needs to get his head down and show what he is capable of week in, week out."

Linton came through the youth ranks at Central Park and the cultured left-sided player is equally at home in defence or attack.

Cameron added: "The squad is coming along nicely with the full compliment almost in place ahead of the first pre-season game which is pleasing.

"Talks are ongoing with Greg Stewart and I'm looking to add another keeper to the squad. Also possibly a wide player and someone up top if the finances allow.

"We will also be boosted by the return of three players from long-term injury. Joe Mbu and Danny Mackay are looking in great shape and raring to go. Dene Droudge is not far behind in terms of fitness but won't quite be ready for the start of the season."

The manager also completed the signing of 16-year old Dale Finnie from Livingston and the promising young centre-half will be part of the full-time youth set-up.

"Dale has a lot of potential and is one for the future."

"He played as a trialist for the reserves last season and is very comfortable on the ball.

"We will look to develop his game and he has a chance if he continues to work hard."
