Joe re-signs

Cowdenbeath Football Club is delighted to announce the re-signing of Joe Mbu after after the central defender put pen to paper on a new deal at the weekend.

Mbu only played a handful of games last season, due to a persistent knee injury but an operation in April finally resolved the problem, and the key defender has shown his loyalty to the Club after agreeing an initial 'pay as you play' deal. The contract will revert to full terms once Mbu has played a set number of games.

"Joe is a big player for us so I'm delighted that he has agreed terms for the new season", commented Colin Cameron.

"He had problems with injuries last season but is now back in full training.

"We are all looking forward to seeing Joe return to his pre-injury form and playing an important part in what we all hope will be a successful season."

Mbu signed for Cowden in July 2008 from Whitburn Juniors and the commanding central defender was a standout as the Club won back-to-back promotions from the 3rd to the 1st Division - winning the Supporters Club player of the year award at the end of the 2009/10 season.

Meanwhile, talks are ongoing with the two remaining out of contract players, Greg Stewart and Scott Linton
