Blue Brazil Manager's Fund

Posted June 23, 2011

Cowdenbeath Football Club is delighted to launch new initiative - The 'Blue Brazil Manager's Fund' - which will greatly assist Colin Cameron to supplement the existing squad with some additional quality. Every donation, large or small, will make a difference.

The initiative will be open for a fortnight and allows individuals and businesses the opportunity to contribute to the funds that are available to Colin - all monies donated will go directly to the playing budget.

You can make a one-off payment via the online shop - click here to proceed. If you wish to pay by other means; by an amount not available online; or by standing order please please call John Cameron on 01383 610166 or email office@cowdenbeathfc.com

Everyone who contributes to the fund will feature in the match day programme and our official website.

Donald Findlay QC, Club Chairman, commented: "Although Season 2010 – 2011 saw the Club relegated from Division 1 despite a valiant effort to stay in the Division, I can assure you that we are determined to strive for promotion in the Season which lies ahead."

"To this end, we recently appointed former Scottish internationalist Colin Cameron as our new player/manager. Colin will be assisted by his former Hearts team mate Lee Makel. The Club has a well-deserved reputation for discovering up and coming young coaches - Craig Levein, Mixu Paatelainen and Danny Lennon to name three from recent times - and I have no doubt that Colin and Lee have the potential to go on and manage at the highest level.

"The new management team share our ambitions for the season ahead and are naturally determined to bring success to the Club and I intend that we provide Colin with the strongest possible squad of players.

"We have made progress and the Club was delighted to announce that a further 7 players re-signed on Tuesday night with more expected before the end of the week. This has been achieved despite making significant savings on last seasons playing budget. We will continue to operate on a financially sustainable basis at all times.

"It is not an easy matter to keep a small Club like ours going with relegation and the current financial environment increasing the pressure. I readily appreciate that these are difficult times for everyone but hope that you are able to support this new initiative.

"I have personally contributed to the fund and every donation really will make a difference.

"Thanks you for your loyal support."
