New Cowden boss Colin Cameron completed his first piece of business after securing Dene Droudge (22) and Danny Mackay (19) on new contracts with further players expected to re-sign in the coming week.
The promising duo, who both came through the Blue Brazil youth system, have been hampered by serious injuries but have now returned to full fitness.
Droudge, who can play right-back or centre half, was a stand out during the 2009/10 promotion winning campaign but unfortunately suffered a bad knee injury towards the end of that season and missed the entire 1st Division campaign. The big defender had a successful operation to reconstruct his injured knee in January and will be looking to make up for lost time.
Mackay had a great debut season in 2008/09, making 25 (2) appearances and winning the Supporters Club Young Player of the Year award. However, the talented young midfielder has spent the best part of the last two years on the sidelines due to a serious cruciate injury but returned to full training in 2011, and starred for Dundonald Bluebell during a loan spell towards the end of the season.
