The Blue Brazil Community and School Football Programme got underway on Friday 3rd June with Central Park playing host to a very successful 'Fun 4's Football Festival'. The event, run by community coaches Kevin Carfray and Max Nicholson with assistance from youth players from the Blue Brazil Youth Academy, saw primary 6 and 7 pupils from a number of local schools participate in a great afternoon of football for all involved.

The programme has been developed thanks to a partnership with newly established football coaching provider GOALzone, which will see the Club significantly increase its presence in Cowdenbeath and the surrounding area over the coming years. Plans are in place for sessions to be run for kids over the summer school holidays and come the start of next term the extensive programme - which will include breakfast clubs, lunch, clubs, after school clubs and development classes - will be rolled out to local schools. There will be something for everyone and every kid in the local area is going to have the chance to particiapte and become involved with Cowdenbeath Football Club and GOALzone.
The partnership with GOALzone is part of the Club's strategy to transform the football club into a major community asset that the people of Cowdenbeath can be proud of once again. The programme aims to assist the local community to achieve many social and economic goals including increased participation in sport, increased learning and life opportunities, and reduced crime.
