Cowdenbeath have been drawn at home against 2nd Division rivals Stenhousemuir in the 1st round of the Scottish Communities League Cup. The tie will take place at Central Park on Saturday 30th July.
The draw was made at Hampden on Thursday afternoon by First Minister Alex Salmond and SFL Chief Executive David Longmuir. The re-branded league cup will use cash seized from criminals to sponsor the Scottish Football League Cup through a £1 million funding package from the Proceeds of Crime Act. The aim is to deliver increased opportunities in sport and physical activity for young people and also provide greater support to clubs to work with their local community to address alcohol misuse, sectarianism, racism, domestic abuse and violence.
