Official website - new look!

Posted September 1, 2009

Welcome to the new look www.cowdenbeathfc.com - the official website of the mighty Blue Brazil!

The website has been given a makeover by Edinburgh-based web design company Evolution Online. The new look site has a range of new and existing features including all the latest news from Central Park, the state of the art online shop, player interviews including an exclusive interview with David Hay, 1st team and youth academy player profiles, Lennon’s Log and the latest match reports. In addition, you can keep right up-to-date with the latest news and live score updates on the new Cowden Twitter page.

Visit the ‘Coo-Shed’ - the new fanzone section - and rate the players for the last match, pick your team of the week, upload your own profile, read up on the Blue Brazil Hall of Fame and Cult Heroes, check out the new column from Innes Ritchie and much more.

In order to enjoy the full experience, register for 'Blue Brazil Plus' by entering your details at the top right of the website and start shopping at the online store, upload your profile at ‘Cowden Till I Die’ and cast your vote in the Polls section.

The Commercial section also provides information on hospitality packages, sponsorship and advertising opportunities, and the lottery.

The design concept has been created by Evolution Online in conjunction with Okta, with Evolution Online developing the physical design and features over the last three months. Evolution Online - who are the website’s official sponsor and also sponsor the shorts for season 2009/10 - offer an Ecommerce, website, Search engine Optimisation and web hosting service to clients worldwide and have expanded quickly since forming as a limited company in 2006.

The company's directors - Irishmen Graham Lyons and Michael Hanna - have been following the fortunes of the Blue Brazil since 1999 after falling for the club while watching the Sky Sports vidiprinter at a bar in Derry! They made numerous trips from Ireland and have become regular visitors at Central Park since moving to Scotland to set-up Evolution Online. The inspiration for the name of the company (Evolution Online) came from their support of COWdenbeath.

The project has been led by Evolution Online's Chris Halliewell (Head of Tech), Sean Douglas (Technical Developer) and Torquil Fairbairn (Head of Design) and reviewed and tested by a group of fans.

The Club will be working with Evolution Online over the coming season to develop a number of possible initiatives including Blue Brazil TV and an online lottery service.

The latest version of the official website continues the evolution of the club's online presence since our first venture into cyberspace just over a decade ago. The website at that time was little more than a holding page with the site receiving its first major overhaul in 2005 to celebrate the club's 125th year.
