Jimmy Nicholl agreed a deal this afternoon to sign Scotland under 21 internationalist Andrew Shinnie on loan from Rangers until the end of the season.
The transfer window closed at the end of January but loan players and free agents can be signed up to the 31st of March and Nicholl has taken advantage to add the attacking midfielder to his squad for the run-in.
Shinnie joins team mate Archie Campbell at Central Park although Campbell will only be available until the game against Queen of the South on the 23rd of April due to the 93 day rule.
Aberdeen-born Shinnie (21), who can also play as a striker, made his debut for Rangers in 2007 against his hometown team and has 1st division experience after making 32 appearances for Dundee during two loan spells in 2008 and 2010 respectively.
He is rated as one of the top prospects at Murray Park but injury has curtailed his progress. After returning from his last spell with Dundee, Shinnie featured for Rangers in the Hong Kong Soccer Sevens tournemant - against a host of premiership clubs including West Ham United, Sunderland and Aston Villa - last summer and was named player of the tournament after scoring 8 goals. He has been held back by injury again this season but recently returned to full fitness and will be looking to get his career back on track during his time at Central Park.
