A last minute goal from super sub Greg Stewart earned Cowden a deserved and precious point at Central Park on Tuesday night.
An entertaining and even first half ended 1-1 with David Weatheston opening the scoring for Queens on 17 minutes after the Cowden defence failed to clear a corner. Archie Campbell netted from the spot 19 minutes later after John Armstrong had been impeded in the box.
The Blue Brazil came out of the traps in the 2nd half and dominated much of the play with numerous chances passed up to edge into the lead, including a Campbell effort that brought out a top drawer save from Hutton in the away goal.
It looked like Cowden would pay for failing to convert their chances after Colin McMenamin scored for Queens from another corner but Stewart scored from close range in closing seconds to save a point - the least Jimmy Nicholl's impressive side deserved for their efforts.
