The Blue Brazil suffered an away loss to promotion candidates Falkirk despite a spirited performance.

The home side controlled early possession without troubling David Hay but Stewart Murdoch opened the scoring after 20 minutes following neat inter-play on the edge of the box.

Cowden were much more of an attacking threat after the break and gave their full-time opponents a run for their money but a Ryan Flynn goal 10 minutes after the interval effectivley secured the points for Falkirk.

Lewis Coult (pictured), Archie Campbell, Joe Mbu and Greg Stewart all came close to getting Cowden back into the game but it ended 2-0 to the hosts.
