Match Preview: East Fife v Cowdenbeath

Posted August 27, 2009

Saturday will see the welcome return of a Fife derby for the Blue Brazil with a trip to Methill to face East Fife.

Stevie Crawford's men have made a good start to the season and are unbeaten after the first three games. However, Cowden will fancy their chances after an impressive showing against Alloa last Saturday.

David Hay and Jay Shields return to the squad after serving suspensions but Shields is still short of match fitness after missing most of pre-season with a foot injury. Darren McGregor and Mark Ramsay are back in full training and could come into contention.

Danny Lennon added goalkeeper Cameron McKay to his squad on Friday and the Canadian goes straight into the squad for this weekend's derby clash with East Fife. McKay, who has a British passport, signed from Canadian side Hamilton Croatia who play in the West Division of the Ontario Soccer League Provincial - the highest division in the province. The team won promotion to the OSL after an undefeated record in 2008 won the South Region Division.
