Cowdenbeath Football Club is currently consulting on proposals to re-develop Central Park. Public consultation events were held on Wednesday 16th February and Thursday 17th February which exhibited the proposals which aim to significantly support the regeneration of the town centre and relocate the football club to a new purpose built community stadium within Cowdenbeath - a site on Broad Street has been identified as the preferred site.
The plans are at a very early stage but it is hoped that there will be strong public support for proposals that will benefit the lcoal community and safeguard the future of the town's senior football club.
What is proposed for Central Park?
It is proposed to build a superstore, small retail outlets and housing on the Central Park site and surrounding environs. This will create jobs, regenerate the area and boost the local economy.
What is the background to these proposals?
Cowdenbeath Football Club has been working closely with Fife Council through the Mid Fife Local Plan to establish proposals for Central Park and the relocation of the football club to a new community stadium. Central Park and the surrounding area has been identified as a key area of physical and economic regeneration of Cowdenbeath.

What happens next?
The next stage of the process will see Cowdenbeath F.C. make a planning application to Fife Council for the regeneraton of Central Park. This application will take into account views expressed at the consultation events and extensive consultation between stakeholders and Fife Council.
This will be followed by an application for the new football stadium (at the Broad Street site or otherwise). The detail fo which will be subject to further community consultation to ensure a facility is constructed which responds and supports the needs of the local community.
