Academy update

The under 19s travelled up the east coast on Sunday afternoon to face their Brechin City counterparts at Links Park, Montrose. Brechin raced into a 2-0 first half lead but goals from Jordyn Gill and Kyle Miller (pictured) secured a more than deserved share of the spoils. Click here for the full match report.

Coaches Graeme Bogie and Derek Nicholson were pleased with the second half display.

"We felt we had let ourselves down a bit in the first half", commented Nicholson.

"We spoke to the boys at half time about the manner in which the goals had been given away and told them they had to up their standards in the second half. The response was fantastic and eveyone of them deserves credit. The tempo of the game was much better, we got more width and they all worked hard for each other.

"Special mention must go to 14-year old Jamie Bouhaddou who was drafted in from the under 15s. Jamie came on after only 2 minutes after an injury to Liam Callaghan and played very well at left back."
