A second half goal fest saw Cowden suffer their heaviest defeat of the season against league leaders Dunfermline Athletic on Wednesday night.
The Fife derby had been arranged at short notice and, despite a lack of recent action, the Blue Brazil competed well in the opening 45 against the full-time Dunfermline outfit. Only a controversial Andy Kirk goal after 29 minutes seperated the sides at half-time.
It was a different story after the interval, however, with the Pars well out of sight by the final whistle. Substitute Marc McKenzie (pictured) came close to finding an equaliser but former Cowden striker Pat Clarke doubled the advantage after 63 minutes and further goals from Nicky Phinn (68), Clarke (86) and a Scott Linton own goal (89) completed the rout.
